JOHNSTON COUNTY - Students at West Johnston High School are mourning over the loss of another one of their own.
Troopers say Ariel Hughes died Saturday morning when the car she was riding in crashed after the driver swerved to miss a deer and slammed into a tree.
There's a pink cross, where the accident happened.
The driver was seriously injured and faces death by motor vehicle charges.
