Evacuations are complete and conditions are getting worse up and down the Crystal Coast.
Swells at the coast are getting bigger by the hour, and we started to feel the first raindrops just before lunch time.
That picture perfect vacation weather from yesterday has been replaced by grey skies and howling winds.
Some folks evacuated, but the majority of them are tourists, most of the local people we have talked to are opting to ride out the storm.
People around the beach aren't scared, acting more cautious, ready for Earl to leave Eastern Carolina.
The mandatory evacuation period for Bogue Banks ends at 5:00, that means no one will be getting on the island after that time. People here can leave at any time, but officials hope everyone will be out by 5:00. Also, Atlantic Beach has imposed a curfew, so anyone deciding to stay will need to be in their homes starting at 8:00 tonight. That curfew is in effect until further notice.
