GREENVILLE, N.C. - The trial for a man accused of killing two people in a drive-by shooting outside of a downtown Greenville night club has been delayed.
James Richardson is facing the death penalty for the 2009 murders of East Carolina University student Landon Blackley and restaurant manager Andrew Kirby.
According to the Daily Reflector, Richardson made an unscheduled apppearance in court on Wednesday.
In his last appearance, Richardson said he was interested in hiring a private attorney and trying to secure funding to do so.
Another possible cause for the date change is a potential scheduling conflict for the prosecution because of another murder trial.
Richardson's trial was scheduled for November 27th after he requested a speedy trial.
Now, it could likely start in early March.
