Strong storms destroyed Duplin County building

DUPLIN COUNTY, N.C. – Strong storms pounded parts of the east Thursday afternoon leaving behind significant damage in Duplin County.

Check out the attached photos of a destroyed building off highway 403 around 1 p.m. this afternoon. Neighbors say it started hailing Thursday afternoon and the storms sounded more like a roar than thunder.

People at the scene tell us the destroyed building in the pictures is a welding business owned by Reggie Carter.
