Unemployment down in most NC counties for October

RALEIGH, N.C. - Good news when it comes to the state jobless rate this afternoon.

According to numbers just released by the state, unemployment rates went down in 83 counties and only increased in 12 for the month of October.

Five counties remained the same.

Scotland County had the highest unemployment rate in the state for October at 16.6 percent.

Edgecombe County had the second highest rate at 15.7 percent.

From highest to lowest, Currituck County had the lowest unemployment rate at just 5.4 percent.
