ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. - A two-year old boy in Elizabeth City was killed in a weekend house fire.

Authorities say a two-year-old boy was killed in the house fire Saturday afternoon. They say a one-story wooden home caught fire around 5:30 p.m. An adult and two children made it out of the home, but the boy was left behind. Investigators say a man tried to get back in the home, but police on the scene held him back. The boy's body was found after the fire was put out. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
