DUPLIN COUNTY, N.C. - Firefighters say a welding mishap sparked a fire at a chicken plant in Duplin County this afternoon. Crews responded to the fire at the House of Raeford around 4:15 p.m. They say sparks from the welding ignited insulation near the freezer door. It took about a half hour to bring under control. The plant was not in operation at the time and no one was hurt.
