KENANSVILLE, N.C. - A man Duplin County deputies called a victim in a deadly nightclub shooting over the weekend has now been charged with murder.
Duplin county sheriff Blake Wallace said 18-year-old Deconnis Simmons is facing an open count of murder in the death of 18-year-old Jamie Oliver.
The two were at an illegal nightclub in Kenansville, when the shooting occurred.
Simmons was discharged from Pitt County Memorial Hospital this morning and is en route to the Duplin County Jail.

KENANSVILLE, N.C. - Duplin County deputies are investigating a deadly shooting at an illegal nightclub.
They say it happened off Farrier School Road just outside of Kenansville before 4 A.M. Sunday.
An 18-year-old was found dead at the scene. And paramedics took a 22-year-old who was shot to Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
Authorities aren't releasing their names yet.
Deputies say the establishment, known as "Deuces" nightclub doesn't have the proper licensing to open and sell alcohol.
Deputies haven't charged anyone; they're still investigating the circumstances of the shooting.
