Head on collision kills man in Duplin County

KENANSVILLE, N.C. - A head on collision has killed a man.

The Highway Patrol said the fatal accident happened on Highway 117 at Yellow Cut Road Wednesday morning.

According to troopers, James Maynor didn't see a car stopped in front of him and swerved to the left to avoid a collision. Instead, he hit another vehicle head on.

The driver of that vehicle, 21-year-old Jonathan Norris, died on the scene. His wife and child were passengers in the vehcile with him. Their injuries were not life-threatening, but the child had a leg injury.

Charges are pending in the accident.
