GREENVILLE, N.C. - The official start of hurricane season is just a couple of weeks away. Storm Team 9 continues to analyze the tropics as to what we can expect this summer and fall.

Part of that preparation took place in Greenville Wednesday afternoon at the 2011 North Carolina hurricane workshop. This workshop was a review of the tools available to us at Storm Team 9 and emergency managers to prepare us for the upcoming active hurricane season. We know that traffic along our coast increases during this time of the year; and this certainly could pose a hazard during severe weather situations, especially during the threat of a hurricane.

Professor Rachel Davidson with the University of Delaware was at the event to talk about storm preparations and the evacuation process.
