CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WNCT) -- Eight people were released on Tuesday after Charlotte police arrested them for climbing flag poles in front of Bank of America with a banner that read "not with our money."
Charlotte police say two of the occupy protesters climbed the poles and six other people helped them. One of those arrested said she knew it would happen.
“We just wanted to make a statement personally, I feel like since I am a part of Bank of America,” said Catherine Glenn. “I actually have an account with Bank of America that that's also my property. Since I give them my money, their private property is my private property as well."
The Charlotte City Council also voted Monday to let the protesters continue to camp out on city property.
