ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. - A teen is jail this afternoon on charges of first degree murder.
Deputies with the Pasquotank County Sheriff's Office say they responded to the scene of a traffic accident Sunday, where they found 17-year-old James Edward Jolley, Jr. on the outside of the driver's door, unconscious.
An investigation into the incident later found that Holley had been assaulted by 16-year-old Jamareus Tyrone Mallory.
Investigators say Mallory pushed Holley out of the vehicle and drove off dragging Holley along the way.
A short time later he wrecked the vehicle and left the scene.
Holley was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.
Mallory was located at home, charged with first degree murder, and placed in Albemarle District Jail under no bond.
