Deadly house fire in Rocky Mount

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WNCT) -- Police in Rocky Mount are investigating a deadly house fire that happened Wednesday afternoon after 3:00 p.m. on the 1200 block of Gay Street.

The victim was Charles Odom, 81. Police say he wasn't able to get out of the home but his wife and two sons could.

Police say the cause of death and the fire are not suspicious. The fire appears to have started in the kitchen.
