ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (AP) - Police have charged an 18-year-old college student in connection with email threats that led to the evacuation of College of The Albemarle's Elizabeth City campus.
The Daily Advance of Elizabeth City reports (http://bit.ly/nFPO7D ) that Margaret Monika White, of Tyner, was arrested Monday night and charged with cyberstalking. She was released on a $10,000 bond.
She's scheduled to appear in court Oct. 31. It could not be immediately determined Tuesday if she has a lawyer.
Police say White is a student at Elizabeth City State University.
An arrest warrant says she sent an e-mail to nine people at College of The Albemarle in which she threatened to harm a math instructor and cause damage to the campus.
Classes resumed Tuesday at the Elizabeth City campus.
