Halloween party ends with one man dead

ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C. - One man is dead and two suspects are in custody after a fight broke out at a Halloween party.

It happened in Roanoke Rapids at the VFW post where a group of people got into a fight outside the building. That fight was broken up, but another broke out on the corner of 10^th and Mills Street involving the same people.

Deputies say Joshua Luke Green was cut in the neck and stabbed twice on the side. Green was taken to the hospital but did not survive.

43-year-old Curtis Edwards of Roanoke Rapids and 23-year-old Kasey Tanner of Roanoke Rapids have been charged in the homicide.

They are currently behind bars under no bond.
