Wilson officer hit by suspected drunk driver

WILSON, N.C. - Police tell us a local officer is okay after a head-on collision with a drunk driver last night.

Wilson Police charged Kenneth Boykin with DWI, driving left of center and driving without insurance.

Sergeant John Slaughter with the Wilson Police Department tells us it happened last night around 11:30 on Ward Boulevard near Tilghman Road in Wilson.

He says Boykin crashed into officer Holly Burritt's patrol car head-on.

Both drivers were taken to Wilson Medical Center.

Neither of them sustained major injuries.
