GREENVILLE, N.C. – A man now faces charges after he was arrested for stealing a woman’s purse from her car.

Nine on Your Side is told police responded to the break-in near KinderCare Learning Center. A witness told police they saw a man running from the area with a purse.

The suspect was identified as 19-year-old Travis Worthington of Grifton.

Officers quickly caught up with Worthington near a dumpster behind Rite Aid Drugs on Stantonsburg Road. They also were able to recover a woman’s purse and wallet plus $50. Those items were taken from the woman’s car.

Worthington was arrested and charged with felony motor vehicle break-in, felony larceny and misdemeanor larceny. He was taken to the Pitt County Detention Center on a $25,000 bond.
