CRAVEN COUNTY, N.C. - The N.C. Highway Patrol tells Nine On Your Side that there are no one was injured after a car hit a bus this afternoon in Craven County. Troopers got the call around 4:30 pm. Authorities say a 2000 Pontiac Grand AM, driven by Christa Cherry, rear ended a middle school bus. The bus was slowing for a stop on Hwy. 17 near the intersection with Antioch Rd, north of Bridgeton. Cherry was distracted by someone in the vehicle when she hit the bus. The bus had not yet activated its lights for the stop. Cherry is charged with failure to reduce speed. The bus has about $500 worth of damage.
