GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) -- Bad news at the pump since prices are ticking back up again in a month that usually isn't associated with high gas prices.
AAA says the nationwide average for a gallon of unleaded is at $3.37. That's up ten cents from last week and almost 30 cents more than a year ago. AAA suggests you look for the lowest gas prices in places with competition.
“If you have many gasoline stations within a short radius, you're going to see prices that are probably a little bit less than areas that have less competition,” said AAA spokesperson Troy Green.
AAA also says the reason for the increase is probably worries about Iran affecting the world market for crude oil.
