Court to hear appeal over smoking ban fine for Greenville clubs

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) -- An appeal over a judge's decision to reverse smoking fines for four local bars is expected to be heard on Thursday.

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) -- An appeal over a judge's decision to reverse smoking fines for four local bars is expected to be heard on Thursday.

The Pitt County Health Department filed the appeal. Back in November 2010, the court ruled in favor of Club 519, Live, 5th Street Distillery and Mac Billiards which allowed indoor smoking at those locations and lifted fines given to those places by the health department.

The health department wants an appeals court to overturn the decision.
