Morehead City man shot Friday night

MOREHEAD CITY, N.C. (WNCT) --Police have made a second arrest in a shooting in Morehead City. 22-year-old Octavian Godette was arrested at around 7 p.m. Sunday at a New Bern bus station on Highway 17. He's charged with conspiracy to commit first degree murder, attempted first degree murder, shooting into an occupied dwelling, and possession of fire arm by a convicted felon.

Timothy Reels Jr. has also been charged with attempted first degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and shooting into an occupied dwelling. The shooting happened Friday night at 1508 Avery Street in Morehead City. Police say the victim, Frederick Gibbs, was shot once. He was airlifted to Pitt County Memorial Hospital. At last check Gibbs was in stable condition.

Investigators say the suspects and victim knew each other but at this time a motive for the shooting is unclear.

A warrant is out for a second suspect, Octavian Godette.

Police say the victim, Frederick Gibbs, was shot once. He was airlifted to Pitt County Memorial Hospital. At last check Gibbs was in stable condition.
