WASHINGTON, N.C. - A Washington high school junior is dead after being hit by a car late last night.
Aaron Spruill was walking home from a friend’s house along River Road near Magnolia Drive when he struck and killed.
The Highway Patrol says Herman Windley of Washington drove the car that hit Spruill.
Today, Spruill's family gathered along River Road where he died.
His brothers and sisters say he had big dreams for his future.
“He was just cool dude, he loved to cook, he always wanted to be a rapper. He wanted to go to New York to go to college, yeah to college,” said Shimar and Rere, Aaron's sisters.
The Highway Patrol says no charges have been filed against Windley.
