Greenville Public Works Director resigns

GREENVILLE, N.C. - The Public Works Director for the city of Greenville has submitted his resignation.

The city formally announced the resignation Friday afternoon.

Wes Anderson's last day will be February 24th.

City manager Wayne Bowers plans to announce management plans for the Public Works Department next week.

City Manager Wayne Bowers said, “Wes is a seasoned Public Works veteran whose skills and experience will be missed. He has been a dedicated and hard-working department leader. As an example, he performed outstanding service directing the City’s recovery from Hurricane Irene last fall.”

Public Works includes street maintenance, sanitation and recycling, public transit, etc.

Anderson has been with the city of Greenville since 2007.
