GREENVILLE, N.C. - A former North Pitt English teacher has been arrested and charged with taking incident liberties with a student.

22-year-old Sarah Holmes turned herself in Friday around 1 p.m. accompanied by her lawyer.

The former teacher is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a 17-year-old male student.

Authorities say it took place over the course of August to November. She was suspended in November, when the incident was reported, and resigned a few days later.

Holmes has been charged with one felony count of taking indecent liberties with a student.
