CARTERET COUNTY, N.C. - A man deputies say threatened to open fire on veterans is set to appear in court today. Authorities arrested 63-year-old Willie Holmes Austin because they say he called a VA clinic in Morehead City threatening to "shoot the place up" with an AK-47. When deputies located Austin they found a loaded AK 47 and two fully loaded 30-round magazines in his car. A second AK-47 and a 12 gauge shotgun were also found at his home. Austin is charged with one count of going armed to the terror of the public and communicating threats.
