(AP) - Tyler Hansbrough scored 23 points and Wayne Ellington added 19 to lead top-ranked North Carolina past North Carolina-Asheville last night 93-to-81.
Hansbrough started the Tar Heels' decisive 13-4 second-half run with a momentum-shifting dunk over the nation's tallest player -- 7-foot-7 Kenny George.
It was the eighth time in nine games that Hansbrough reached the 20-point mark.
Ty Lawson added 17 points for North Carolina and reserve Danny Green added 14 points, 12 in the first half.
The Tar Heels never trailed and are now 16-and-0. It's the first time in a decade that North Carolina has completed a perfect nonconference regular season, and just its fifth in 50 years.
UNC-Asheville was led by Bryan Smithson with 25 points, while K.J. Garland added 16.
