Allmendinger has a temporary ride

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - A.J. Allmendinger will drive the Number 00 Toyota for Michael Waltrip Racing at Lowe's Motor Speedway this weekend.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - A.J. Allmendinger will drive the Number 00 Toyota for Michael Waltrip Racing at Lowe's Motor Speedway this weekend.
He'll have to qualify the car on speed to make the field for Saturday night's race because the team is ranked 36th in owner points. Allmendinger was a career-best ninth at Kansas Speedway two weeks ago in his final race for Red Bull. Michael McDowell drove the Number 00 for MWR for most of the season, but was pulled from the car after he failed to qualify for Kansas.
