ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Dwight Howard has won the NBA's Defensive Player of the Year award by an overwhelming margin.
The Orlando Magic center picked up 105 of 119 first-place votes to outdistance Cleveland's LeBron James for the award. He led the Magic to 59 regular-season wins and became only the fifth player to top the league in blocks and rebounds in the same season, averaging 13.8 boards and 2.9 rejections.
The 23-year-old center is also the youngest player to win the award.
