ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) - Curtis Granderson homered again, Brandon Inge also went deep, and the Detroit Tigers used a five-run seventh inning to beat the Los Angeles Angels 12-10 on Wednesday night.
Angels reliever Scot Shields (0-2)threw 18 pitches in the seventh without retiring a batter and walked Gerald Laird with the bases loaded to put Detroit within 8-7.
Jose Arredondo came in, and two more runs crossed the plate when shortstop Erick Aybar made an errant flip to second baseman Maicer Izturis on Inge's RBI infield hit. Adam Everett hit a bloop RBI single to left that fell just out Aybar's reach, and Placido Polanco's run-scoring infield hit gave Detroit an 11-8 lead.
Juan Rincon (1-0) got the win, allowing a run and two hits in an inning of relief.
