ASHBURN, Va. (AP) - The Washington Redskins have made a second round of layoffs, dismissing six employees in the stadium ticket office and four seasonal employees.
The six laid off Monday at the stadium worked in general admission sales. The four seasonal employees worked at the Redskins Park training facility.
Earlier this month, the Redskins laid off more than 20 people, mostly in the marketing, legal and technology departments. Director of player development John Jefferson and salary cap analyst Jimmy Halsell were also let go.
The Redskins are feeling the effects of the economic downturn even though they are the second most valuable NFL franchise with an estimated worth of $1.538 billion, according to Forbes' annual rankings. They play in the NFL's largest stadium and have sold out every home game since the 1960s.
