LAS VEGAS (AP) - Kyle Busch came up a big winner in his hometown of Las Vegas. Busch won on his home track, driving from the back of the field to win the Shelby 427 NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Busch won the pole, but had to drop to the back of the field at the start of the race because the engine in his Toyota had to be changed Friday. He calmly marched toward the front, took the lead with 57 laps to go, lost it and then chased down Jeff Burton and leader Clint Bowyer to move out front again.
It was Busch's first win at Las Vegas in six career Cup starts.
Bowyer ran second followed by Burton, David Reutimann and Bobby Labonte (luh-BAHN'-tay) in fifth. It's Labonte's first top five finish since late 2006.
Matt Kenseth's bid to win the first three races of the season ended just seven laps into the race when his engine failed. Kenseth won the season-opening Daytona 500 and last week's race at California. No driver in NASCAR history has won the first three races of the year.
