WINTERVILLE- Pitt Community College beat Potomac State 9-2 on Saturday to win the Eastern District Series 2 games to none.

With the win, Pitt will play in the school's first ever National Junior College World Series. That World Series is held in Grand Junction, Colorado and starts next week.

"This team just seemed to have an aura around it," said Coach Tommy Eason. "Our players and coaches have worked really hard. It's very rewarding to win a series against such a good team and to now get ready for the World Series.

Justin Nygard picked up the win on the mound for the Bulldogs.
