KINSTON- North Pitt upset Kinston last month in Bethel. The Vikings avenged that loss and clinched the Eastern Plains 2A title on Friday night by rolling past North Pitt, 72-48.

Josh Dawson led the Vikings with 21 points. It's the sixth straight conference title for Kinston.

Kinston's girls also put the finishing touches on a conference title, beating North Pitt 43-35. It's the first girls championship for Kinston since 2003.
