Jones Senior Falls to Murphy in 1A State Championship Game

RALEIGH-Jones Senior turned the football over five times and fell to Murphy 21-6 in the 1A state championship game on Friday night.

Running back James Posey scored a pair of touchdowns and Kenton Braswell rushed for 126 yards as the Bulldogs downed the Trojans at Carter-Finley Stadium.  

Jones Senior opened the scoring in the first quarter but then gave up 21 unanswered points in the loss. The Trojans end their season with a record of 10-5.

Jones Senior was going after the school's first state title. Murphy won that school's sixth state championship.
