CHICAGO (AP) - It's been a nightmare of a travel week across the U.S., and in the West, travel may be difficult again today.
Winter storm warnings and advisories are posted over large parts of the West. Washington state's governor has declared a winter storm emergency, after record or near-record snows over much of the state. Two more inches are in the forecast around Seattle and up to 7 more inches are possible in the eastern part of the state.
As the weather has improved in the Midwest, flight cancellations and delays have eased, but not enough to ensure everyone at Chicago's O'Hare Airport got to their destination. Airlines requested about 75 cots for stranded travelers last night.
