(AP) - Snow is falling on North Carolina's mountains, and forecasters say accumulation in some areas may reach 10 inches.
The National Weather Service said Wednesday morning that higher elevations and areas near the Tennessee border will see snow accumulations of 6 to 10 inches by late Wednesday night. Forecasters said lower mountain valleys will see about 3 to 6 inches.
Winds of 15 to 30 miles per hour will create wind chill of below zero. The weather service said a winter storm warning is in effect until Thursday morning.
