Air Mail from Canada Has Arrived

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Hello, I'm Storm Team 9 Chief Meteorologist Phillip Williams.  The cold blast from Canada made it to the East right on schedule.  Temperatures will dip to near 24 tonight with a wind chill between 10 and 20.  Northwest winds will blow 10 to 15mph.  Skies will be clear.

Did you see any snowflakes today?  I got a report of a 5 minute snow shower near Fountain in Pitt County during the afternoon.  I thought I saw one flake hit my windshield around 2:30pm.  It melted and my wiper showed a streak so I think it really was a flake.

My forecast for Thursday is for another cold day with sunshine and a high near 36.  North winds will blow at 10 to 15mph.  Thursday night will be a very cold night as winds diminish.  Lows will be near 19 inland and 25 on the beaches.

Friday will be sunny and not as cold with highs near 46.  The weekend will continue a nice warming trend.  We could hit 70 next week, so it is "return to sender" for the air mail from Canada.
