After several days with highs in the 30s and 40s last week, a strong ridge of high pressure over the Southeast U.S. will bring unseasonably warm weather to Eastern North Carolina to start this week. Expect widespread fog early Monday to melt away for plenty of midday and afternoon sunshine - high 73.
The warm ridge holds firm through tomorrow, and temperatures will stay well above average. Expect lows in the upper 40s and low 50s tonight and highs tomorrow in the mid 70s! Then, a series of fronts will bring chances for rain and increasingly cooler weather for the mid and late parts of this week.
