Weather conditions tonight call for a Dense Fog Advisory. Officers say that driving the speed limit in normal conditions is okay. But when visibility is low, it's not the safest thing to do. And if you should suddenly run into fog, the best thing to do is to keep your cool.
"What people need to do is try not to panic. If you're visibility goes to complete zero, start slowing down, look for your fog line to the right," said Highway Patrol Sgt. Ernie Coleman.
People also think they can see better if they turn their high-beams on but in fact, officers say you can actually see best with your low beams because fog actually dissipates the light and it feels as if you're in a white out. And remember to stay a safe distance away from the cars in front of you.
