The warm weather and dry conditions aren't helping the drought get any better.
And a city in the east is now seeing how much the drought is costing it.
The city of Rocky Mount has put mandatory water restrictions on its residents.
Officials also asked businesses in the area to cut back on water use.
Director of Water Resources Wayne Hallowell says the city lost about a million dollars in revenue.
That's simply because people weren't spending the money to buy water or to treat it but it's what the city wanted.
Also, Rocky Mount spent six hundred thousand dollars on a project to connect a line from Rocky Mount through Elm City and into Wilson for water.
We contacted other counties in the east; they aren't seeing the same shortfalls.
In fact, Tarboro's revenue increased because it sold water to customers in Edgecombe County.
