(AP) - Heavy fog is getting in the way of crews trying to mend the Florida interstate where a 70-car accident killed four people.
Interstate 4 has been closed since yesterday morning's chain-reaction crash. Fires from the crash charred the asphalt, and crews had been working overnight to repair the damage. But thick fog forced workers to stop.
Numerous roads have been shut because of the fog, and the Polk County sheriff tells CNN people should just try to avoid the area.
Five people were seriously hurt in the crashes. Officials are trying to figure out if smoke from a fire mingled with the fog, contributing to the crash. The fire started as a controlled burn but blazed out of control.
