MIAMI (AP) - Forecasters say they can't be "absolutely sure" yet, but they're predicting that Hurricane Bill won't strike a path for the eastern United States.
The first hurricane of the Atlantic season has grown into a fierce Category 4 storm. The storm could get even stronger as it moves over warmer southern waters.
The hurricane is on track to pass well away from the Leeward Islands in the coming hours, but residents have been told to keep an eye on the storm. Fishermen in Antigua have also been advised to dock their boats.
Its most significant threat may be to Bermuda. That could happen in three or four days, though forecasters say it's still too early to know for certain.
Bill is expected to start sending large swells toward Bermuda and parts of the southeastern U.S. coast by the weekend.
