After Stormy Start to Friday, Dry Weekend Likely

Hi, I’m Storm Team 9 Meteorologist Gannon Medwick with your FORECAST FOR EASTERN NC:  A storm system will bring a high chance of rain early Friday.  A cool and dry high pressure system will build for the weekend.

FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FORECAST DETAILS:  Expect clear to partly cloudy skies, west breezes of mainly 15mph, and temperatures falling from the 60s and low 70s in the afternoon to the 50s for the evening.  

FRIDAY MORNING RAINFALL TOTALS through 11am include 0.43" at New Bern, 0.24" at Beaufort, 0.18" at Washington, 0.16" at Greenville, and 0.14" at Jacksonville.

WEEKEND FORECAST DETAILS:  For Saturday, expect mostly sunny skies, early temperatures in the 30s and 40s, and afternoon highs mainly in the lower 60s.  Dry weather is likely for Sunday as well with afternoon highs mainly low 50s then. 

A PEEK INTO NEXT WEEKMonday will start clear and cold with temperatures in the 20s and 30s.  Afternoon temperatures will feature a warming trend with highs likely near 51 Monday, 62 Tuesday, 64 Wednesday, and 66 Thursday.  Dry weather is likely for most of the period
